All those years of learning about Nazi Germany and wondering how people could “let” it happen, how people could go on living their lives despite all the terrors happening around them… only to watch it unfold in real time here in the US. (After all, that wasn’t just an “awkward gesture” that was made by a certain weirdo billionaire, and anyone telling you that is trying to gaslight you.)

She’s 10 year old me, painfully aware of what’s going on but with no power to do anything about it.
