Winter Snowflake Clips (easy peasy)

I’m in love with the clothespins to hold photos that I print from Instagram – I have a whole line of them hanging up at my desk at work:

I wanted some for the holiday season for the fridge at home, and these are stupid easy. The glitter tape means there’s no mess of trying to paint the clothespins with glue and then dusting with glitter (which IS the herpes of the craft world, in case you’re not aware. That ish gets everywhere and it’s a nightmare).

Supplies:

  • Clothespins – I used both large and small
  • Glitter tape (found in the scrapbooking section of Joanns)
  • Snowflake buttons
  • Glue
  • Magnets (or not)

Make them:

  • Apply tape to pins and trim. I found that if I line the tape edge up to the side where the metal spring is close, I can cut easily along the opposite side and still have enough to cover a 2nd of the small pins. With the large pins I just trimmed and threw away the excess.
  • Glue on snowflake buttons. If using a hot glue gun, make sure you curse the fact that you bought a high temp one instead of the low temp version you saw at the store. Molten glue is hot, duh!
  • Attach magnets… or not. You could just use them to string across some twine. Or wrap your holiday packages with ribbon and use in place of a bow. Whatever.

Hi there.

I’m Candice. I knit, and spin, and sew, and garden, and make jams and jellies and… you know, mostly? I do very little of that anymore because I’m too exhausted after work and motherhood and fighting for some personal space. Read more

Instagram post 2334539036412378202_218716066 Purl has been with us since November and she's still so dainty and sweet and adorable. ❤
Instagram post 2332162043503112345_218716066 Yesterday morning I screwed up my back while cleaning and it was so bad that trying to bend down to spray my strawberries later in the day resulted in me on the ground unable to move.
So today is a "take it easy" day, and Declan cut some pineapple sage for us to have some iced herbal tea. I'll be on the couch knitting for the 3rd day in a row... which normally I'd be thrilled to get to do but, honestly, I just wanna go out and play in the garden. There are rose petals to steep in vinegar, chives to cut back, raspberry leaves to pull and dry for future tea brewing, etc.
